Workshops

Ripley Sewing Centre’s Pop-up Workshops provide an opportunity for invited special guests those hold a trunk show, give a demonstration, facilitate a project, or provide guidance with a technique. RSC always looks to invite special guests and your suggestions are welcome.

Kidz Kapers

This program is designed with sessions over two days during Queensland school holidays. Children from eight through to high school students participate in a "hands-on" program to teach sewing skills, build confidence, and create a project designed for their level of ability. Being supported by a wonderfully capable teacher to complete a sewing project from start to finish fosters a sense of accomplishment that boosts morale and self-confidence.

Machine Quilting Demonstrations

Session introduces long arm quilting using a Handi Quilter “Amara” and, if relevant, its ProStitcher software. (https://handiquilter.com.au/product/hq-amara/)

Unboxing your New Machine

This Session is designed to introduce you to your new machine purchase from Ripley Sewing Centre.

When: Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday mornings from 9am to 12 noon as per prearranged appointment. Other session times are available by mutual agreement.

Cost: Free for new Ripley Sewing Centre purchases.

Beginner Quilt

Designed for beginners, this activity takes you through making a Sampler Quilt top from start to finish. With each block you make, you will learn new skills and techniques, improve on the ones you have learned, and gain in confidence with every step. But for now, let the journey begin!!!

At Ripley Sewing Centre we hold this activity annually with never two years being the same.

When: TBC. Express you interest now as places are limited to 4 participants only.

Cost: TBC. Program cost payable on acceptance by Ripley Sewing Centre to this activity.

Quilt-A-Quilt: From start to finish

This session provides the participant with an opportunity to experience the basics of computerised long arm quilting using an Handi Quilter “Amara” and, if relevant, its ProStitcher software. (https://handiquilter.com.au/product/hq-amara/) A small quilt project will be used to provide an understanding of what is involved from start to finish with quilting one’s quilt.

When: Monthly – 3rd Monday morning from 9am to 12 noon.

Payment is required in advance to confirm your place in any Activity.

Cancellations are required 72 hours in advance unless in circumstances deemed exceptional by Ripley Sewing Centre. Ripley Sewing Centre reserves the right to make changes, postpone, or cancel Activities deemed to be in the best interests of everyone involved.
