Ruler work…ruler work…ruler work…it is all the rage right now. You don’t need to have fancy shapes to do beautiful ruler work. Basic shapes like circles and straight lines can make a myriad of different designs.  The only limitation is your imagination.

At the beginning of this year we offered our Quilting Plus program.  We saw it as providing an opportunity for those interested in discovering the creative possibilities ruler work can add to their quilting arsenal.  Through this program participants have been able to work on two complete quilt projects following their introduction to ruler work utilising the Bernina Ruler Panel by Amanda Murphy together with the Bernina Set A Ruler Kit for Domestic & Longarm Machines.

Yesterday (Wednesday 11.09.19) in our Pop-Up session facilitated by Jen, those involved in Quilting Plus program worked on another idea from Amanda Murphy called the Hanging Ruler Organizer.  It is a Pattern for you to sew a hanging case to display and transport your quilting rulers and templates. This piece is simple to construct, can hang flat in your room, and fold up for easy transport.  Unbelievable results with one attached below for you to savour and think “I wouldn’t mind doing something like that!”

Every month we run these POP-UP sessions on a Wednesday morning.  One coming up soon is the Sewing Machine Cover with Decorative Stitch Embellishment.  Your trusty machine works so hard for you, doesn't it deserve a brand-new outfit?!

Remember to stay turned to our face book chats, website and blog for all that is happening at the Ripley Sewing learning Centre and A Couple of Quilters - family owned and operated initiatives of Bloom Hills Family Trust.
